This Sunday, as we continue our sermon series through the book of 2 Timothy titled, "The Handoff: Running Together."  2 Timothy is believed to be the last of Paul's letters found in the New Testament and represents his final words to his dear co-worker in the gospel, Timothy, who is a leader in the Ephesus. This Sunday we will consider the call to faithfulness even in the face of great challenges.  What does faithfulness require? What is the motivation to endure? What gives us hope when we reach our breaking point?

Paul's encouragement for his friend and co-worker Timothy is about not just joining or making the journey, it is about how to finish.

Sermon: The Handoff: We Journey Together
Text: II Timothy 1:1-14
Key Verse: II Timothy 1:12 - That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.
Sermon Snapshot: The Apostle Paul is coming to the end of his career and now writes once more to Timothy, his “son-in-the-faith.” They have shared so much to this point and surely both suspect that there is coming an end to that: no longer a sharing, but a transfer from one to the other. How will the Gospel of God’s Grace carry on across this first generational transfer of leadership? The World Christian Movement is evidence that it did in fact transfer. In this fresh series, we will look to see what we can learn about how God did that from Paul to Timothy, then all way to us and beyond.

Key Verse: John 15:15 - I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. Of the many requests made of Jesus "Teach us to pray..." stands out as the one born out of close observation of His life and deep desire to "be like Him" from those who spent the most time with Him.

This Week's Sermon Information: Sermon: Workers in the Harvest Text: Luke 10:1-3, 16; Acts 1:4-8 Key Verse: Luke 10:2 - He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Sermon Snapshot: It's hard to imagine a farm family missing-in-action for harvest time. "We were on vacation! Spent two week sight-seeing with friends!" Harvest time is specific and limited with a life-giving purpose. You make the most of it and join in the hard work and adventure, or you miss the moment and suffer the consequences. Jesus redeems us at great cost, and invites us to both be His Harvest, as well a Worker in His Harvest. Don't miss the adventure.
