Celebration Sunday Worship
Celebration is one of three worshipping communities that comprise Harderwyk Ministries in Holland, MI. Dr William Lindner serves as Campus Pastor. With a "vibrantly classic" worship style marked by strong congregational singing and organ, Celebration encourages everyone to join in the journey of faith by being found in, formed by and following Jesus.
This week at Celebration:
BLESS Others: Eat
Matthew 9:9-13
It's interesting that Jesus was comfortable eating with "sinners." While this led to others wrongly accusing him of "being a sinner" himself (John 9:24), the truth is, that He would instead give His own life to redeem the life of sinners. Gospel Hospitality is rooted in grace because it is a gift and invitation to others based on what we ourselves have received from Jesus.
Congregational Singing This Week:
Praise To The Lord The Almighty
Seek Ye First
Beautiful Savior
Music Specials:
Harderwyk Handbells
Jane Bosko - Piano - Jayne Gort – Flute
Prelude:
Give Me Jesus - arr. Richard Billingham
Assurance - arr. J Bert Carlson
Jane Bosko – organ
Postlude:
Praise to the Lord - arr. Gordon Young

Eating Our Way to Relationship
Matthew 9:9-13
This week, we’ll continue walking through the B.L.E.S.S. model as part of the witnessing life, and we'll find that “E” is for Eat. As we seek to bless others by spending our time eating with them and getting to know them, we can’t help but more deeply discover God’s desire to know and be in relationship with each one of us.

Bless: Eat
Matthew 9:9-13
Join us as we continue in our sermon series on the Witnessing Life titled "Bless Others," where we will journey through the B.L.E.S.S. model. We hope to discover how every follower of Jesus is called to be his Witnesses by blessing others. This week, we will explore the importance of "Eating" and, in particular, this generous gift of hospitality. Even today, there is not much else that can bring people together from all walks of life, quite like a good and hearty meal. May we continue in the way of Jesus and begin to see our dinner tables as sacred places where we might be able to connect and love our neighbors.

Listen
Luke 18: 35-43
Join us as we continue in our new sermon series on the Witnessing Life titled "Bless Others" where we will journey through the (B.L.E.S.S.). Our hope is to discover how each and every follower of Jesus is called to be his Witnesses through the blessing of others. This week we will explore the importance of "listening." Today, we have lost an appreciation for the art of listening, but when we listen well (as Jesus modelled in ministry), we honor others and show them our love and concern. May we learn from Jesus' example this week, found in Luke 18, and continue to grow in how we tangibly express our love for our neighbors.

Listen
Luke 18:35-43
As we continue to explore what it means to B.L.E.S.S. the world around us, this week, we are exploring how Jesus listened to people. His listening tore down walls that often lead people to dismiss others, showed His willingness to slow down and dignify people, and led to lives being changed. Hopefully, our lives can reflect that same grace-filled and loving posture.

Sermon: BLESS Others: Listen
Text: Luke 18:35-43
Key Verse: Luke 18:41 - Jesus asked the blind man, “What do you want me to do for you?” “Lord, I want to see,” he replied.
Sermon Snapshot: Having listened to His Father in prayer, Jesus now stops along the way on his journey to Jerusalem - where we can now look back and see that he will be crucified in about a week - to listen to the request of a blind beggar. Faithfulness is about the journey along the way as much as it is the destination.

Luke 6: 12-19
Join us as we begin a new sermon series on the Witnessing Life titled "Bless Others" where we will journey through an acronym (B.L.E.S.S.). Our hope is to discover how each and every follower of Jesus is called to be his Witnesses through the blessing of others. This week we will explore our starting point - prayer. Begin with Prayer
Luke 6:12-19
If we are going to know where, how, have the energy for, and with whom we are to be a blessing it will be essential for us to follow Jesus’ example and live a life full of prayer. Prayer shapes our reality with God’s, aligns our hearts with God’s will, and helps to put us in position to let Christ’s life flow through us to others.

Communion Sunday
We do not come to this supper claiming any merit in ourselves. On the contrary, we come testifying that we seek our salvation apart from ourselves and instead, in Jesus Christ. Form for the Celebration of the Lord's Supper II (1964)
BLESS Others: Begin With Prayer
Luke 6:12-19
For the most part, both believers and non-believers would say that Jesus prayed a lot. What we see in this passage though, is that the way Jesus prayed was very different than most non-believers think of prayer - and amazingly, different than many believers as well! For Jesus, prayer was not so much about the answers he got, as it was about the work of the Father that he joined. It can increasingly be like that for each of us as well.

Acts 1:1-8, 2:40-47
Key Verse: Acts 1:8 - But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
With the resurrection of Jesus, a page is turned and a new chapter begins in the Master’s Rescue Plan for His creation. “Blessed to be a blessing for all nations” (Genesis 12:3) continues to be the theme, but now Jesus introduces the next phase of the mission plan with a promise of power, a demonstration of power and a prototype with power for the mission.

The Ending...
Mark 16: 1-8
This Easter Sunday, we conclude our journey through the Gospel of Mark in our series titled, "Who's this Guy?" On Maundy Thursday, we journeyed together through the suffering and death of our Lord Jesus in Mark chapters 14 and 15. On this Resurrection Day, we remember how the women went to the tomb to find it empty with the news that "He is risen!" We will place ourselves in their shoes and consider the shock and wonder of this moment that would absolutely change the world. Our invitation is to let this gospel continue that transforming work.

The Script is Flipped
Mark 15:16-16:8
Jesus’ death and resurrection flipped the script on everything the world has known. Mark’s unique ending to his telling of the good news of Jesus shows us that the greatest powers in this world could not and cannot stand against the sacrificial love and power of God.
