The major theme of the prophet Joel is the “Day of the LORD” which is a day for some of God’s judgment, and for others, hope.  In calling to mind past days of the LORD and looking forward to others, God invites us through Joel to “rend our hearts and not our garments” and return to the God who delivers, restores, and is with us.
