Bible Study Groups

As followers of Jesus within Harderwyk Ministries, we desire to live a Word-Centered Life that is growing in a love for and understanding of the Bible through faithful preaching and teaching, reading, reflection, and dialogue with others about the Gospel in and outside the Harderwyk community.

  • Discover Your Bible

Peter addresses the important question: How do we face challenges as a people who, through Jesus Christ, have been given a living hope? Through Peter's words, we gain insights into how God calls all of us to live in the situations in which we find ourselves today. Join us as we discover together how early Christians were called to stand firm in the faith and how we might also stand firm knowing we have a living hope.

This group meets in the Library on Wednesday evenings following our Community Night dinner, September 23 through December 9. We will be studying 1 & 2 Peter.

No sign up is required; come when you can.

  • Good & Beautiful God

Come join a group this fall as we try on a different Spiritual practice each week, using "The Good and Beautiful God" by James Bryan Smith as our guide. We'll read and discuss and live together through 9 chapters where the author invites us to examine the narratives about God that guide our lives without us always being aware of them. Most importantly, we'll also look at Jesus' true narratives about God and work out together what it means to live in light of them.

This group meets in Room 20 on Wednesday evenings following our Community Night dinner, September 23 through December 9. Pick up the book and read chapter 1 before our first Community Night on September 23, when we'll be discussing that chapter and the first Spiritual practice, which is "sleep."

    Facilitators:
Luke Joyce, Stephanie Joyce, Carrie Postma, and Tom Bosch.

  • Lost Cause

For Christians, sharing the gospel can be awkward, unnatural, and even frightening. After trying and failing, or failing to try at all, we may wonder if evangelism is worth the effort. In Lost Cause, created in partnership with Exponential, Dave Ferguson helps Christians push past common barriers to evangelism so we can focus on the heart of the matter: sharing the message of good news with people who desperately need it. Join us as we explore this five-session series and revive your heart for evangelism. (based on the B.L.E.S.S. acronym).

This group meets in the Boathouse Fireside Room on Wednesday evenings following our Community Night dinner, October 7 through November 4.
Sign up by emailing Pastor JB.

Come and join us if you’re looking for a group of women who are authentic, genuine, kind, and supportive!
