Budgets Plus Mentor

    

Responsibilities:

Assisting individuals and families in setting up and managing their personal budget.  The ministry begins with a 4 week class which teaches the techniques of budgeting and follows up with 6 months of budget counseling.

Responsibilities:

Individual would offer encouragement and advise in the areas of financial management.

Responsibilities:

Building Your Own Business Guest Speaker
 

Responsibilities:

Individual would present professional advice on accounting, banking, insurance, legal set-up, marketing, and taxes; or small business owner would present his/her “story” on owning a small business.

Kids Hope USA Mentor
 

Responsibilities:

Commit to meet with an elementary-age child at Lakeshore Elementary.  Work on specific academic objectives set up by the teacher.  Love, encourage, and listen to a child.  Be reliable and committed, maintain a confidential relationship with a child and maintain strong communications between the assigned prayer partner, Kids Hope Director, and school personnel.
  Estimated Time Commitment: 1 hour per week for a school year; Attend 3 after school parties and monthly prayer gatherings November through May
  Gifts and Passions valuable for this ministry: Must love children and be sensitive to their needs.  Have own transportation and able to read.  Must be prayer focused and 16 years or older. Must be a Harderwyk member.

Kids Hope After School Recess (ASR) Leader
 

Responsibilities:

Assist kids with homework, crafts, games, and sports.  Assist the Kids Hope Director as needed.
  Estimated Time Commitment: 2 hours per week (Wednesday 4-6pm); November through April
  Gifts and Passions valuable for this ministry: Must love elementary age kids and just hanging out with them.  Strong disciplinary skills, outreach minded—warm and welcoming.

Kids Hope After School Recess (ASR) Snack Coordinator
 

Responsibilities:

Coordinate weekly snack schedule.  Recruit volunteers to provide the snacks.  Replenish Kids Hope food supplies as needed.  Assist Kids Hope Director as needed.

Kids Hope After School Transportation
 

Responsibilities:

Commit to transporting After School Recess kids, via Harderwyk bus, from Lakeshore Elementary.  Possible availability for occasional off-campus After School Recess trips.

Kids Hope Prayer Coordinator
 

Responsibilities:     

Develop a Prayer Partner Network.  Create ways to keep mentors and prayer partners linked.  Identify methods of communication to the Communications Coordinator and Kids Hope Director to keep the worshipping communities informed about the vital Kids Hope Prayer Partner role.
  Estimated Time Commitment: 2 hours per week

Responsibilities:

Plan, coordinate and implement  periodic crafts/ activities to do with After School Recess kids, at the Anchor.  Possibly assist Kids Hope Director with “special” off-campus outings/ activities for the After School Recess kids.

Kids Hope Prayer Partner
 

Responsibilities:

Commitment to faithfully pray for a Kids Hope Mentor and the child they are assigned.  Contact the Kids Hope mentor on a regular basis.  Attend periodic prayer gatherings set up by the Prayer Partner Coordinator.
  Estimated Time Commitment: Daily prayer and once a month prayer gathering; November through May

Kids Hope Communication Coordinator
 

Responsibilities:

Recruit people to assist with publications of newsletters from: Mentors, Prayer Partners, School Personnel, Parent/Child.  Gather stories, etc. for updates in bulletin and other forms of church communication.  Identify and keep fresh other ways to communicate the vision, message and impact of Kids Hope both at church and at school.  Keep mentor school mailboxes current.  Send notes/ reminders of encouragement to mentors.

Responsibilities:

Identify/plan possible events/activities/parties, which will begin to involve the child/family in the life of the church.  Coordinate and implement 3 school-year events, to be held at school or church, (Christmas, February/March and end of the school year celebration/graduation). Involve Kids Hope family members and prayer partners in these events.

Senior care provides friendly visitors for isolated seniors living in their own homes.  This is designed to support senior adults as they face the realities of aging through a caring friend who will visit weekly or bi-weekly.
