  Short Term Missions

Mission Team Application

Members of Harderwyk Ministries take very seriously Jesus' command to "go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." (Matt 28:19-20)  Not only do they support missions as "mission mobilizers", providing the necessary funds and prayer support, but many have physically involved themselves on mission trips, disaster relief missions and local outreach programs.  For more information, contact Mary DeWitt, Mission Coordinator.
Community Transformation continues to unfold, both in members of Harderwyk Ministries, and also in the communities in which we are called to serve.  Relationships continue to strengthen and bonds are made stronger.  Funding for these mission projects is provided purely by faith-promise giving, personal out-of-pocket expenses and fundraising.  Missions are not part of the day-to-day operating budget of Harderwyk Ministries

Some of the ongoing short-term mission projects are:

* Roseland Christian Ministries in Chicago, IL

* CRWRC Disaster Response Services

* Dominican Republic - Two teams per year build duplexes in Batey Fao, a tiny impoverished community which was part of a serious racial incident in 2005, leaving twenty families without homes.

* SERVE Project - Ty Hogue continues to provide this opportunity, challenging middle school students to give up a week of their summer vacation to work in and serve the greater Holland Community.

* Mercy Air in South Africa/Mozambique

* Carribean Christian Centre for the Deaf in Montego Bay, Jamaica

Harderwyk Ministries prepares for its Dominican Republic 2010 mission trip.

 Mission Trip Testimonials

"I'm still running the entire trip (Dominican Republic) through my mind. All good things but I continue to shake my head on what we saw and experienced as somewhat unbelievable." - Steve Panse

"It is hard to arrive and see the worst kind of poverty...but it is even harder to leave. It is humbling. The people of Fao are no longer just people to me...I am honored to call them my friends and family." - Heather Laninga

"When I would hear people speak of their experience (on a mission trip), I always thought it was neat and would like to do it sometime. Now having gone, words cannot express the blessings, and the experience of seeing God at work in peoples lives. Just go and be ready to be awed and humbled. I would do this again in a heartbeat." - Ed deVries

"Whatever you do for the least of these, you do for me."- Matthew 25:40 - "A mission trip will open your eyes and you will be blessed beyond measure. Just do it!" - Dirk Bloemendaal

"It's important to be willing to learn from a different culture...to understand we all serve the same God...and because we are called to do it as Christ's body." - Joan Genzink

"You will feel so rich in Spirit in so simple and humble as a like place Batey Fao. Talk about being filled up and overflowing; you can't help but see the face of Jesus on every one of those sweet children faces and their believer parents!" -Sandy DeKock

"I saw God in Tracey's kids. They were so grateful for what they had and they just brought joy to whatever we were doing! Those kids showed me to be grateful for a loving family." - Kenzie Branderhorst (SERVE project)
